Join the beta

Bolo is in beta on Apple’s TestFlight. On your iPhone, install the free TestFlight app, then open testflight.apple.com/join/3njZWzxN and tap Accept. You don’t need a Sarvam account; the beta comes with everything it needs. If the link says the beta isn’t accepting testers, try again soon or email support@curovana.com.

Set up on iPhone

  1. Open Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Add New Keyboard, and choose Bolo.
  2. Tap Bolo in that list and turn on Allow Full Access. The keyboard needs it to receive your words from the Bolo app; see the privacy policy.
  3. In any text field, hold the globe key and pick Bolo.

Set up on Android

  1. Open Bolo and tap Allow for the microphone.
  2. Tap Open, switch on Bolo voice keyboard, and tap OK on Android’s two standard notices.
  3. Tap Choose and pick Bolo. In other apps, use the keyboard button at the bottom of the screen to switch between Bolo and your usual keyboard.

Common questions

Why does Bolo open when I tap the mic (iPhone)?
iOS doesn’t let keyboards use the microphone, so the Bolo app does the listening. The first tap in a session opens Bolo to switch the mic on; swipe back to your app and keep talking. After that the mic stays ready for the time you set in Bolo’s settings, and the keyboard works without leaving your app.

Why is there an orange dot at the top of the screen?
That’s iOS showing the microphone is ready. You can end the session any time from the Bolo app, or shorten “Keep mic ready for” in Bolo’s settings.

My keyboard switched back to the normal one.
iOS does this after you install or update Bolo. Hold the globe key and pick Bolo again.

Can I get Hinglish in English letters, or all lowercase?
Yes. In Bolo › Settings › Writing style, choose English letters, mixed scripts, your language’s own script, or translation to English, and turn on All lowercase if you like.
